|After months of tiring treatment for spinal cord tumors, the sparkle returned to 7-year-old Maeve’s eyes when she learned she could make a wish.|
The spunky girl (known as “Maeve the Brave” for her courage during illness) has a fondness for the high seas. She wished to set sail on a Caribbean cruise!
Maeve was awestruck when she first set eyes upon the majestic Freedom of the Seas. She delighted in the chance to zip down waterslides and play mini-golf while floating in the ocean. During shore excursions, she was overjoyed to meet real dolphins. Her illness felt a world away.
When asked to describe the highlight of her wish, Maeve flashed her trademark grin and exclaimed, “The best part was…I don’t even know where to begin! It takes really nice people to give kids their wishes. Thank you, Make-A-Wish people, for giving me my wish!”
