Tyler meets Curt Schilling

Type:  Wish Stories

With his little legs dangling off the edge of the clubhouse couch, 4-year-old Tyler gazed up at his hero – Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling.

His first question was sweetly simple. “Curt, do you like chicken fingers?”  In his Red Sox uniform, Tyler was ecstatic.  Chemo sessions and treatment for leukemia were forgotten as he chatted, giggled, and posed for pictures with the famed Sox slugger.

After proudly showing Schilling the "B" shaved into his haircut, Tyler was escorted into the locker room.  Schilling gave Tyler a personal tour and introduced him to several star players.  Tyler received high fives from David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, and others.

After his dream meeting, Tyler and his family took their seats atop the Green Monster to watch the game. Tyler proudly held the poster he made, which proclaimed, “Tyler just met Curt Schilling. Thank you, Make-A-Wish Foundation!”
