Music is a joyful tradition in 11-year-old Cam's family. He plays an alto sax passed down from his father and first learned to strum a guitar with his cousins.
When Cam was diagnosed with tumors on his brain and spinal cord, he turned to his music for strength - and wished for a guitar of his very own. With the partnership of the Guitar Center in North Attleboro, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts located Cam's dream guitar: a blue Matteo Paul Reed Smith custom electric guitar. Cam smiled broadly when he first set eyes on his gift at a special party with his family and friends. Within seconds, Cam had the guitar in his hands. As he played a song for the crowd, his illness seemed a world away. He played that day and has not stopped. Through the power of a wish, a home is now filled with the sweet sounds of a boy on his guitar, strumming with joy. Volunteer Team: Maureen Beaulac and Liz Cooksey |
