"I wish to fly!"

Fifteen years ago, Andrea Beloff was in the fight of her life against Ewing's sarcoma.  At age 16, her wish trip to Brazil gave her the strength to push through treatments.  "I still think my wish helped me get through," she says.

Now an adult, Andrea is the first former wish child in Massachsuetts to serve as a Wish-Granting Volunteer.  She has coordinated several wishes, including 7-year-old Michael's wish to fly in a Navy helicopter.

When Andrea met Michael, she saw a bit of herself.  She recognized the fear and pain of illness, but also the indelible joy of the wishing experience.  When Michael returned home from his wish, he proudly wore his mini flight suit to the clinic, where he resumed leukemia treatment with newfound courage!
