Behind the Scenes of a Wish; Wish child directs award-winning film

Diagnosed with kidney failure, Michelle fought through dialysis treatments and underwent a kidney transplant at age 13.  After her body rejected the transplant, Michelle experienced both heartache and inspiration.  Years of living with a life-threatening medical condition inspired Michelle to educate others about her illness through film.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts brought Michelle’s dream to the big screen by enlisting the partnership of VideoLink, Inc., a Newton-based provider of broadcast and transmission services.  Through Michelle’s creativity and VideoLink’s expertise, Define Normal was born.

Michelle’s star continues to shine as her documentary gains national attention.  Recently, Define Normal was awarded a prestigious Bronze Telly Award in the Non-Profit/Documentary category.  Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards honors excellence in television commercials and non-broadcast video productions.  The award is highly coveted by industry leaders.
