Hope sets sail

While at the clinic enduring painful chemotherapy, 10-yearold Roland’s heart was often at sea. He dreamed of seeing a world beyond the hospital walls, of watching the ocean stretch for miles!

Roland’s wish for a cruise begins with a fitting moment: when he first sets eyes on the majestic Royal Caribbean ship, Freedom of the Seas. At once, Roland truly does feel free — from treatments, from worry, from all the heartache of being a cancer patient.

Aboard the ship, Roland is newly energized. He bounces from the pool to the water park, and beams with pride when he wins the grand prize at Bingo! At last, Roland is exploring a world beyond illness…a world of joy.
