The Road to Hope: Celebrating 332 wishes in 2009

On August 31st, the Foundation reached the destination of its 2009 fiscal year:  332 wishes fulfilled.  The road to hope traveled through cities and towns across Massachusetts, lifting thousands along the way:  families, donors, volunteers…and of course, 332 courageous children. 

For each of these children, the possibilities of a wish stretched for miles – leading to the gates of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World®, to the Pope’s home in Italy, to a tennis court in Florida, and even to one child’s backyard baseball field of dreams.

“The road to hope in 2009 began with our supporters,” said Charlotte Beattie, Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation.  “All across Massachusetts, donors, volunteers, and event organizers stepped forward for our children.  We thank them for every gift that brought our children one step closer to hope!”

Of course, the road does not end in 2009.  On September 1st, the Foundation began a new year with a new destination.  In 2010, we are striving to grant wishes for 350 children.  A new journey begins!
