Volunteer Amy Killeen honored as “Unsung Heroine”

In 1999, Amy Killeen arrived at the Foundation’s office with boundless enthusiasm and a compassionate heart. As a woman who cared deeply about children’s issues, Amy wanted to serve those less fortunate: children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. Eleven years later, Amy is a shining star of the Foundation’s 600-strong volunteer corps. She is a wish granter who has directly helped to fulfill 42 children’s wishes and an event volunteer who helps to raise funds for the Foundation’s mission. On May 19th, Amy added “Unsung Heroine” to her growing list of titles. Nominated by a colleague at Northeastern University, Amy is one of 100 women recognized for her outstanding contributions to the community by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women.
