Rhode Island wish children soar with the Thunderbirds

Type:  Announcements

As the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and other performers soared across the skies, the hearts of Rhode Island wish children soared alongside.  On June 25th, the renowned air demonstration team performed for 30 wish children in preparation for the Rhode Island National Guard Open House and Air Show.

The event at Quonset Point in North Kingston was open exclusively to wish children and their families, who were captivated by the aerial performances.  After the show, the Thunderbirds pilots and crew signed autographs and posed for photos with the children.

Each child proudly received "wings" - a special Thunderbirds F-16C Fighting Falcons pin.  As honorary Thunderbirds, our children felt inspired to soar beyond illness and reach their grandest dreams!  The Foundation warmly thanks Lt. Col. Bruce Fletcher, Lt. Col. Patrick Driscoll, and all Thunderbirds pilots and crew for coordinating this uplifting experience.

Many wish children soar through the skies like the Thunderbirds, because 70 percent of wishes involve travel.  Give your own "wings to a wish" by donating your frequent flier miles to the Foundation.  Click here to learn more.
