Allison’s tale began with more heartache than happiness. When she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Allison was forced to leave the joys of teenaged life behind. Instead of giggling with friends and dancing at parties, Allison spent her days at the hospital.

 

When the pain of chemotherapy became too overwhelming, Allison turned to music for inspiration. The creative teen found strength in the soulful music of singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile. Allison asked the Foundation if she could meet her favorite artist in person!

 

At the concert venue, Brandi embraced Allison warmly. She asked the awestruck teen to help select songs for the set, welcomed her to the sound check, and provided a private tour of the band’s bus. During the concert, Allison’s wish took center stage when Brandi introduced her to the audience. Allison joined the band on stage and played tambourine during Brandi’s encore song!

 

For months, cancer had consumed Allison’s every moment. But now, through the magic of a wish, Allison was the star of her life again.
