Her very own fairy tale: SaraGrace visits Disney World

Type:  Wish Stories

6-year-old SaraGrace, diagnosed with a heart condition, explores the Magic Kingdom

As she steps through the gates of the Magic Kingdom, 6-year-old SaraGrace leans forward to accept the glittering tiara that is placed atop her head. With a curtsy and a giggle, she is transported to the pages of her very own fairy tale.

Life has not always been a fairy tale for SaraGrace. True to her name, she has battled a life-threatening heart condition since birth with courage and grace every day.  SaraGrace has spent many days of her childhood on the sidelines - unable to visit the playground or skip rope at recess because of her illness.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation gave SaraGrace the chance to visit a world where childhood flourishes.  When she felt sad or sick, SaraGrace focused on a treasured goal: her wish to meet Cinderella at Walt Disney World.

In Florida, SaraGrace fluttered from ride to ride with her brother, hand-in-hand. Every experience - from riding the carousel to devouring ice cream sundaes - gave the girl new energy.  Her eyes sparkled as brightly as her tiara when she first saw Cinderella. As one princess met another, SaraGrace’s heart filled with hope.
