Bill and Doris Loehning of Barrington, Rhode Island, recently hosted a special reception at their home to introduce the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Massachusetts and Rhode Island and its mission to more than 75 guests. Bill is chairman of the Foundation’s Rhode Island Advisory Board and he and his wife, Doris, will chair the 2012 Evening of Wishes event, taking place on October 13, 2012.
Together, they invited attendees to become involved with the Foundation and help make wishes come true for eligible Rhode Island children. The reception featured a heartwarming speech by 19-year-old Aaron, whose wish to throw out the first pitch at Fenway Park was granted when he was a high school sophomore. Aaron drew inspiration from his wish during his battle with cancer and continues to cherish the experience. “For me, my wish was all about joy. That day was one of the greatest days of my life and I will never forget it.” Aaron is now a freshman at Rhode Island College.
