Wish children and their families and other friends of the Foundation were treated to an afternoon full of holiday cheer on November 30 when Macy’s National Santa Tour rolled through the Berkshires. Gathering at Regal Cinemas at the Berkshire Mall, wish children enjoyed a special viewing of Yes, Virginia and a performance by the second-grade chorus from Williams Elementary School in Pittsfield. They then followed Santa and the Wahconah Regional High School marching band in an exuberant parade through the mall to Macy’s. Santa read Yes, Virginia to the group and each child had the opportunity to whisper their holiday wishes to him. Marching band members presented Santa with 600 letters, their contribution to Macy’s Believe campaign, and the mayor of Pittsfield, James M. Ruberto, presented him with a key to the city. It was a fantastic afternoon! Thank you to Macy’s, Regal Cinemas, the Wahconah High School Band, Williams Elementary School, and all of the Foundation’s friends in the Berkshires who created a truly magical holiday celebration for our wish children! As one wish mother expressed, “Thank you…for making our children feel absolutely amazing yet again.” Click here to view a photo album from Santa’s visit | ||
