Building Joy for Noah

On his wish trip, Noah left no corner of LEGOLAND unexplored and was even treated to a behind-the-scenes tour with one of LEGO’s Master Model Builders. He was shown the vast work area full of thousands of pieces and learned how some of the exhibits were built. He watched the builder’s techniques closely, as together, they made two sets of miniature figures of Noah and his sister, one for Noah to keep and one to become part of LEGOLAND! Beaming, Noah followed the builder to Miniland USA, where he proudly chose to place his figures on the San Francisco pier. Noah is filled with excitement and joy as he reminisces about his wish with his family. His mother, Cicely, gratefully reflects, “Noah’s days, for as long as he can remember, have been filled with pain, and every daily activity is controlled by his medication schedule…His LEGOLAND wish will stay with him and with our family forever, as we use the great memories from it as a positive distraction in Noah’s everyday life.”

When Noah learned he would have a wish granted, he needed to look no further than his own "LEGO room" for inspiration. Building with LEGOs is a calming and welcome distraction for Noah, who has hemophilia with inhibitors. The seven-year-old wished to go to LEGOLAND California, where he would be immersed in a world full of the colorful bricks! Noah’s wish was just what he needed to remain positive amidst the acute and chronic pain he experiences due to his illness.
