Jeans For Wishes is a charitable campaign to benefit Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. During our 25th Anniversary year in 2012, participants at companies, schools, and organizations will wear jeans, sports apparel, or dress with a creative theme to support children's wishes. Through the campaign, the Foundation seeks to raise the funds to grant wishes for five children in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. - How does Jeans For Wishes work?
Jeans For Wishes gives teams the flexibility to be creative! In exchange for a donation to the Foundation, participants may wear jeans to work or school. Suggested donations are $5 per participant to wear jeans for a day; $20 per participant to wear jeans for a week. Choose dates and donation amounts that work best for you! - Is there a minimum donation to participate?
No, the amounts provided are suggested donations. The Foundations appreciates any donation amount that your team is able to raise. We do encourage your team to set a fundraising goal; you can even divide into departments or classes to see who can raise the most! - Will my team support wishes for children residing in our community?
Yes. Massachusetts teams will support Massachusetts wish children and Rhode Island teams will support Rhode Island wish children (unless you specify otherwise). Approximately 80 percent of every donation is directed to our wish-granting program.
- How do I enroll my company or school?
First, select an individual to serve as your team coordinator - the designated contact between your team and the Foundation. That individual can register your team online or via phone, fax, or mail. Click here for more information.
- What happens after we enroll?
As team coordinator, you will receive an official Jeans For Wishes campaign kit, which includes a welcome letter, a Make-A-Wish banner, promotional materials, and Make-A-Wish buttons for participants. - What if we would like to support wishes, but we already wear jeans to work or school?
Your participation in Jeans For Wishes is limited only by your imagination! You can choose to wear sports apparel or even pajamas in exchange for donations to the Foundation. Click here to explore our list of creative ideas...or create your own! - Can individuals outside Massachusetts and Rhode Island participate?
Yes. Although we are not publicizing the campaign outside Massachusetts or Rhode Island, your team may raise funds for Make-A-Wish in any geographic location. If you would like the donations raised in other locations to support wish children in those communities, please contact us at 617.367.2669 or info@massri.wish.org. We will give you contact information for the appropriate Make-A-Wish chapter. - Are donations to Jeans For Wishes tax deductible?
Yes. Contributions are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. The Federal Employer Tax Identification Number for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island is 22-2867371. Individuals who would like to receive a receipt for tax purposes should make contributions by check or money order payable to Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. - I have collected donations and am ready to send in the funds.
